Symmetrical Balance
Study of lines and shapes. The challenge is to play on the frame of the box as opposed to the middle. To counter the boxiness of the rectangular frame, I exclusively used round shapes and line movements inspired by Henna and mandala designs.
Asymmetrical Balance
While there are two circles equally placed on either side of the frame, these circles both carry starkly contrasting visual weights. On the left, I tried to create something that represented the sun - this side is brighter and contains sharper shapes. On the right, I took inspiration from the phases of the moon - this side is darker and contains rounder shapes.
